Dr. Fiona McCarthy

MBChB MRCP PhD

Medical Director

Dr Fiona McCarthy is the Medical Director and Founder of The Bronte Clinic, and a Consultant Medical Oncologist with over 20 years of medical experience. She graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2002, became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians in 2007, and was awarded a PhD by the University of London in 2017 for her research exploring the links between inflammation and cancer.

In 2017, she established The Bronte Clinic to provide a thoughtful alternative to trend-led aesthetic medicine. Following her own experience navigating post-pregnancy skin concerns, she recognised how complex and commercially driven the aesthetics industry could feel. She created a doctor-led, science-based clinic grounded in medical excellence, integrity and subtle, evidence-based treatments – a space where skin health is prioritised and natural results are paramount.

Dr Fiona has a specialist interest in the skin toxicities of cancer treatment and is a Key Opinion Leader for La Roche-Posay in oncology skincare. She acts in an advisory capacity for several charities and is regularly invited to share her expert opinion in the national press on skin health, oncology and responsible aesthetic medicine. She continues to practise part-time as an NHS Consultant Oncologist.

Her approach reflects her core philosophy: careful assessment, honest advice and treatments designed to enhance – never alter – the individual.
